Yes and No

Haley has learned to nod yes and no. Now this can be quite comical. While the answers often seem quite legit...it usually depends on how you phrase the question. Needless to say a vigorous "no" where her whole body shakes, makes her laugh histertically.
She loves the outdoors which is where we will be from now on as the weather cooperates. The good thing for mommy is...makes her naps longer. (That is where she is right now.)
She has also mastered walking backwards. When you give her the backwards "beep beep" like a truck....this is also quite funny.
Our favorite toy right now is the cabbage patch doll...she loves to poke her eyes, ears and her soother is just fascinating. We pushed the cabbage patch doll across the floor the other day, quite innocently, because Andy had the doll and I had Haley...well she almost fell over she was laughing so hard. I think the "real" and the "not real" are cracking her up.
The other day we were noting how tall she has become...we don't really see it unless we think back to what she could and could not reach. I think our parents will be surprised in June.

Dinner Time is a Good Time

We may regret encouraging this, but it was just so funny. Who could guess that yams, carrots and beef could be so exciting.
We received the results for all our blood work and just as we always knew....she is perfect. She is average weight for her age, average height with an average head circumference. Again, this is completely perfect. Life is great!

Clarification

Okay, she is not "sick". We went to Sick Kid's just because they need less blood to do tests and because they can do a better job on children. The tests are just routine...since we know very little about our little darling. If I had gone here in Banff we would have had to go four times...and well her mother will not hold her four times while they try to find a vein.....oh no....not me....We were just a little behind...I should have gone when we got back from China but it has been hard to find time to go to Calgary. That's all. Just routine....She is healthy as a horse...She is not well because there is just a flu bug that is going through Banff like wildfire...everyone has got it...young and old...just so no one worries...Smiles

Just because It has been such a Week

Haley has jelly legs from being tired and not eating....so she took a tumble in front of both of us. Yikes. Daddy to the rescue.

It's been One Hellova Week

We started out on Monday, with a trip to Sick Children's in Calgary. We needed lots of blood work done and at Sick Kid's they do micro testing, which means they need less blood. So off we went, everything went smoothly. Then we had needles on Wednesday...again everything was fine. Thursday, we had a lovely party at the Carmichael's...cake and all. A great big thanks to Malcolm and Sharon. Then the trouble began. 10 pm. Haley pukes all over Andy. We can smile a little at this. Hmmm mommy figures...she was a bad mommy and too much cake. Friday went to Carmichael's again for our regular Friday....the runs all day. Saturday at 2 am...pukes all over Andy again. Now she has not eaten since Thrusday at noon really! Now for anyone that knows Haley...this is very bad....she loves food. It's Saturday at 11:00 am now...she is sleeping. We got into her some banana and rice cereal and some Pedialyte....so far so good. Let's hope we are at the end.

I figure we had a pretty good run there. 3 months with no troubles. She still does not have a fever. So all and all not too bad. But it has been one hellova birthday week for our little darling. Happy Birthday Haley!

Just so everyone Knows

You are not alone! Everyone asks me to put up new pictures. I am constantly amazed at the number of people who sneak peaks into our little world. I always think that people must be bored of us. I am of course not speaking to any immediate family, especially since most of you are so far away. I guess I just want everyone to know that reminding me to post some new stuff is great. I love doing it. Sometimes, I am just tired....at the end of a day. So never worry about asking me to post, are you kidding, she is my absolute favorite topic and she makes my life shine.

I do miss lots on this blog. We went swimming for the first time last week, wow, what a production....so many costume changes. I was exhausted that night, so was Haley. We went to play time at the day care today. Loved it. But Haley is in a wierd spot. She loves to walk, almost run, and not that many kids her age around here can. Sooo she runs after the 2 year old ...okay ..boys....mostly. And well they are fast and tough....too much for Haley but she just loves their speed! She goes flying sometimes. But she gets up and goes right after them again. That's my girl. Hmmm, what else...well she loves the Carmichael girls. She spends Fridays with them, and we usually see them at motoring munchkins...(you learn a whole new vocabulary in this baby world) All three are so sweet to Haley it brings tears to your eyes. Little Katy gives the gentlest kisses you have ever seen! We just simply love them.

We will post birthday pictures soon!

Popsicle Trays?

Okay so we have some pretty fancy toys....put the square in the square hole type gizmos...but this was fabulous....popsicle trays and the bundt cake pan. Okay I am trying to bake a cake and this is Andy and Haley sprawled in the middle of my work zone. I actually had to walk around the island to get around them. Anything I do is apparently fascinating....yikes...we influence these little minds so completely.
